This is how we protect our birds and beavers
As humans it is our responsibility to look after our environment and the creatures within it. This is how we protect the beaver, the nuthatch, the bee-eater and the blue kingfisher together:
Protect their habitat:
Protect the waters
- A beaver needs a 20-meter-wide strip along a body of water.
- A blue kingfisher needs clean water with a rich supply of fish.
Save their breeding grounds
- A blue kingfisher needs steep banks at riverbanks.
- A bee-eater needs sand pits.
Aid their nesting and feed them
- Nuthatches need a nest and food – especially in winter.
You can put an artificial nest box into your garden for nuthatches as well as a feeding station with oats, pumpkin seeds and so on.
Support animal welfare organisations
You can support animal welfare organisations with a donation, or you can get active and do volunteer work.
